Dilution
Definition:
A type of infringement of a trademark in which the defendant's use, while not causing likelihood of confusion, tarnishes the image or blurs the distinctiveness of the owner's mark.
Fanciful Marks
Definition:
Comprise terms that have been invented for the sole purpose of functioning as a trademark or service mark.
Ordinary Skill in the Art
Definition:
That level of technical knowledge, experience, and expertise possessed by the run-of-the-mill or ordinary engineer, scientist, or designer in the technology that is relevant to the invention.
PrinTEAS
Definition:
A former feature of the USPTO's electronic filing system that allowed applicants to complete a trademark application on-line, and then print it out for mailing to the USPTO.
